
What is the Housing Choice Voucher Program?
The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is a federal program that helps low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities afford safe and stable housing in the private rental market. Administered locally by the Cloquet/Carlton HRA, the program provides financial assistance to eligible households, enabling them to secure housing that meets their needs.
Who is Eligible?
To qualify for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, applicants must:

To participate, your property must meet these basic requirements:

Pass a Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspection.

Offer a rent amount comparable to similar units in the area.

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
